Who We Are
Quiktrak Security Pty Ltd is a developer and operator of direct sequence spread spectrum wireless networks. The company's Australian operations include commercial security and tracking networks in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. Corporate headquarters are in Sydney and our global engineering and development facility is located in Adelaide.
Our Technology
All QuikTrak Networks utilise QuikTrak's direct sequence spread spectrum technology.
A QuikTrak network consists of a network of base-stations and a population of transponders, either fixed or mobile within the coverage area. Base-stations can be arranged in geographically diverse cells and transponders have the capability to roam between cells. The network is designed with a high degree of redundancy which guarantees delivery and reception of messages, as well as allowing accurate positioning of the transponder. As the technology operates with a bi-directional communication link, handshaking is implemented on all forward and return messaging to further guarantee 100% reliable delivery of messages.
Transponders can be either mobile tracking and messaging devices, or be part of a static security and messaging service. As such they are suitable for use in both personal and asset protection applications.
Because the transponder can transmit alarm messages independent of the reception of any downlink signalling from the network, it is almost impossible to jam the transmission and makes it ideal for security applications. The process gain afforded by the use of direct sequence spread spectrum also allows for the use of very sensitive receivers in our base-stations, further enhancing the networks ability to reliably capture all transponder transmissions.
